Baldur's Gate 3

Pull up a chair at the Gaming Table. It's Baldur's Gate 3 time.

Played this one for about 30 hours when it came out in Early Access in 2020??? (feels like an eternity ago) and had to force myself to stop because I knew that this day would come.

It's finally here, and as of this writing, and I've just caught back up to where I left off with the early access version. The first few hours were spent recreating my irl D&D warlock, Evelyn, and while the Changeling race isn't available, I ended up going with a high half-elf (who was one of Evelyn's previous Masks).

My sweet boy. He's beautiful.

The combat system is pretty faithful to D&D 5th Edition aside from a few minor changes that seem necessary in the translation from tabletop game to video game. It's incredibly satisfying. Love it. I can see myself playing another hundred hours.

Why?

Because the characters are fun to hang out with. I'm currently rolling with Karlach, Shadowheart, and Astarion. They feel like a really cohesive and perfectly well rounded team, with great personalities. It will be hard to replace any of them honestly.

Anyway I'm sitting here writing this on a Friday night instead of playing more, so bye.
